What is Ultimate?
Ultimate is a sport that combines the agility and conditioning of soccer, the speed of basketball, the field of football, and the beauty of a soaring disc.
Those of you that have not had an opportunity to play, we invite you to come learn, there are many sites that show you where games are being played every week (look at the Pick-Up Games + on left). To be prepared and to look legit you will need to wear a random T-Shirt, a sweet pair of shorts, and either a headband or some ridiculous socks that go to your knees, and don’t forget your shoes.

How to Play
2 teams of 7 compete on a field similar to a football field. Players toss the disc to each other and can score 1 point by completing a pass across the goal line. If the defending team intercepts or knocks down or the offensive team drops the disc, possession changes and the defense instantly turns into the offense, and then works towards their own respective end zone. Players cannot run more than 3 steps with the disc and while throwing one foot must stay in place as the pivot foot. The player with the disc has 10 seconds to throw it, or he losses possession to the other team at that same spot. Fouls are called depending on the situation, incidental contact happens but tackling is not allowed.
AZUFA QUICK CHUCK TOURNAMENTS:
These tournaments are SURPRISES! We will organize small 6-8 team tournaments on random Saturdays of the year, in random locations on a whim. The first 6-8 teams to register and pay will be included in these AZUFA Quick Chuck Tournaments.

*Winner takes the pot – about $250 - $500
*Rosters can be no bigger than 14 people
*Team color required
*Play to 13 points must win by 2 with a cap of 40 minutes.
*Everyone gets a Gatorade
*Sometimes FREEbies will be given out to players and fans too

AZUFA Quick Chuck Tournament - Dec 5th - Rules
Please review these rules ESPECIALLY if you are participating:
1. The Field: A rectangular shape with end zones at each end. A regulation field is 70 yards by 40 yards, with end zones 25 yards deep. Perimeter lines are out of bounds.
2. Set Up: Team captains will go to mid field and will call the discs same or different for the toss. The winner of the toss decides to receive or defer, the other captain will decide which end-zone to defend. After the halftime the team who received first will pull to begin the second half.
3. Initiate Play: Each point begins with both teams lining up on the front of their respective end zone line. The defense throws (“pulls”) the disc to the offense. Teams must stay not cross their end-zones until the disc is released. Pulls that are touched and not caught before hitting the ground by the receiving team will result in a turnover. After a foul the defending player touches the disc to restart play.
4. Movement of the Disc: The disc may be advanced in any direction by completing a pass to a teammate. Players may not run with the disc. The person with the disc (“thrower”) has 10 seconds to throw the disc. The defender guarding the thrower (“marker”) counts out the stall count.
5. Substitutions: Players not in the game may replace players in the game after a score and during an injury time-out.
6. Non-contact: Physical contact is prohibited between players. Picks and screens are also prohibited. A foul can occur when contact is made. Non-intentional contact is not always a foul.
7. Fouls: When a player initiates contact on another player a foul occurs. When a foul disrupts possession, the play resumes as if the possession was retained. If the player committing the foul disagrees with the foul call, the play is redone.
8. Self-Officiating: Players are responsible for their own foul and line calls. Players resolve their own disputes.
9. Spirit of the Game: Ultimate stresses sportsmanship and fair play. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play.
10. Time/Score Limits: Games will be played to 13; teams must win by 2 with a 45 minute time limit. In the event of a TIE after 40 minutes, the two teams will break for 5 minutes and will resume until one team scores. Halftime or 8 minutes will occur after 25 minutes of play have transpired.
11. In/Out of Bounds: If the disc initially hits an out-of-bounds area, the receiving team may put the disc into play:
(A) To continue play after the disc becomes out-of-bounds, a member of the team gaining possession of the disc must carry it to, and put it into play at, the spot on the playing field proper nearest to where the most recent of the following events occurred:
-the disc completely crossed the perimeter line;
-the disc contacted an in-bounds player;
-the disc contacted a defensive player; or
-the disc became out-of-bounds due to contact with the out-of-bounds area or a player while any part of
-the disc was inside the perimeter line.
After establishing a pivot at the appropriate spot on the field, the thrower must touch the disc to the ground
before putting it into play; OR
(B) after signaling for a brick or middle by fully extending one hand overhead and calling “brick” or “middle” before gaining possession of the disc, either at
-the brick mark closest to the end zone that the receiving team is defending if “brick” was called,
or
-the spot on the long axis of the playing field proper nearest to -the spot determined by IX.H if “middle” was called.
12. No metal cleats or spikes
